Privacy policy

This policy explains how the GeoFlag iOS app handles information. GeoFlag is designed as an offline-first app: its geography content and core game remain usable without an internet connection.

Information stored on your device

Quiz progress, achievements, settings, virtual token balances and other gameplay state are stored locally on your device. GeoFlag does not require an account and does not upload this gameplay state to a GeoFlag server. You can remove locally stored data by deleting the app.

Advertising and consent

GeoFlag uses Google AdMob to provide optional rewarded ads and occasional interstitial ads. You can choose whether to allow personalized advertising. If you consent to personalized advertising and authorize tracking in the iOS permission dialog, Google and its advertising partners may use a device advertising identifier and activity from other companies’ apps and websites to select ads that are more relevant to you. GeoFlag uses a general-audience ad content rating.

If you do not consent or do not authorize tracking, GeoFlag requests non-personalized or otherwise limited ads instead. Google and its advertising partners may still process technical data such as IP address, approximate location derived from IP, ad interactions and diagnostics to deliver and measure ads, limit fraud and comply with law.

Where required, Google’s User Messaging Platform asks for your privacy choices before ads are requested. You can reopen the available Google ad privacy choices from GeoFlag Settings, and you can manage the iOS tracking permission in the Settings app. Your choice does not restrict access to GeoFlag. If ads cannot be requested, GeoFlag continues to work and may show offline in-app messages instead.

Purchases

Purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit. GeoFlag also uses RevenueCat to retrieve products and keep purchase entitlements in sync. Apple handles your payment information; GeoFlag does not receive your full payment-card details. Apple and RevenueCat may process product, transaction, app and device identifiers needed to complete, restore and validate purchases.

Firebase

GeoFlag uses Firebase Core for app configuration and technical infrastructure. The Firebase project is linked to AdMob through a Google Analytics property, so aggregated AdMob usage and advertising metrics may be available in Firebase and Google Analytics. GeoFlag does not include the Firebase Analytics SDK, log custom gameplay analytics events, create user accounts or synchronize gameplay progress. Information processed by Google through Firebase and Analytics is governed by Firebase privacy and security terms and Google’s Privacy Policy .

Notifications

If you enable streak reminders, GeoFlag asks iOS for notification permission and schedules those reminders locally on your device. Notification content is not sent to a GeoFlag server.

Children

GeoFlag does not ask users to provide a name, email address or other account information. If you believe a child has provided personal information in connection with GeoFlag, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

Third-party retention and transfers

Google, Apple and RevenueCat retain and process information under their own policies and may process it in countries other than your own. Their retention periods and privacy controls apply to the information they receive.

Changes

We may update this policy when GeoFlag or its service providers change. The effective date at the top identifies the latest version.
